This book. THIS BOOK!!!!! 15/10, highly recommend. The best book I’ve read in 2023. It’s ‘Six Feet Under’ meets ‘You’ve Got Mail’, set in a unique and immersive fantasy world. If you take one part zombie movie, one part enemies-to-lovers romance, one part mystery novel, one part fantasy, and a pinch of a western; shake them all up, and you’ll get the magic that is ‘The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy’. Hands down one of the best books I’ve read this year. Snarky dragons, unique magical abilities, lovable side characters, and on top of all that, a badass FMC with a disability, and a MMC that literally wields shadows. Sign me up. Violet & Xaden are perfect. Dain is the worst, and OMG Liam, sweet Liam. (Sigh) I will forever be scarred by the battle of Athebyne. ❤️ The cliffhanger ending left me reeling, and I can’t wait for book 2.
